Summary

Brenda holds a Bachelor of Law Honours Degree (LLB) from the University of Zimbabwe and a Masters in Intellectual Property Law (LLM) from the University of Turin (Italy) in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO). She has extensive experience in commercial law and has over the years distinguished herself as an IP law specialist Attorney in the region. Brenda has advised and assisted global companies in IP acquisition, prosecution, strategy and has helped resolve a number of IP disputes. As a leading IP champion in Zimbabwe, she has helped shape the industry’s growth and actively empowers start-ups with dedicated IP services and trainings in IP law. Former President of the Zimbabwe Institute of Patents & Trademarks Agents (ZIPTA) /Law Society Zimbabwe Councilor and current Chairperson of the African Regional Intellectual Property Organisation (ARIPO) Working Group (which is amending the organisation's legal instruments).
